In a nutshell…

Four Corners Mapping and GIS is a woman-owned business based in Durango, Colorado. Four Corners creates custom cartography for policy advocacy campaigns and print media, designs interactive web mapping applications and ArcGIS Story Maps, and produces geologic and topographic trail maps.

We also design and implement remote sensing projects, offer consultation for field mapping workflows, and perform spatial analysis and modeling such as cut/fill and viewshed analysis. Our clients include environmental conservation nonprofits, municipalities, journalism publications, small and local businesses, and environmental consultants.

Anna Riling, PG MS

Four Corners Mapping was established in 2019 by Anna Riling, PG MS. Anna is a seasoned GIS professional and internationally recognized cartographic designer with extensive experience delivering innovative and award-winning cartographic solutions for a wide range of clients and projects. Anna’s work reflects her belief in the power and impact of beautiful maps to advocate for meaningful environmental causes and the protection of the natural world. A cartographer as well as a licensed Professional Geologist with two decades of experience as a practicing geologist, she combines analytical precision with carefully crafted elements of design that provide context, invite inquiry, and distill the unique story of a place.

Anna is dedicated to community involvement and served on the board of GIS Colorado, where she designed and implemented two statewide Mapping Contests. In 2018, she founded and now runs the Durango GIS Group, a valuable resource for the GIS community, bringing local GIS professionals and students together for trainings, presentations, and networking.

She shares her life with her husband and two children in Durango, Colorado, where they take every chance they can get to escape to the refuge of the mountains, canyons, and rivers of the American West.
